Caprina LLC is one of the most prominent exporters of pistachio and saffron from Iran.

Throughout the year, this business is trying to provide all products needed by its customers, including importers, wholesalers, chain stores, and domestic and international food factories.

 

Iranian Pistachio Industry

Pistachio has been cultivated in Iran for thousands of years. Commercial cultivation of pistachios started expanding in Iran about one hundred years ago and production and exports have grown ever since.

Currently, annual pistachio production in one year is up to 280,000 metric tons, from orchards in Kerman, Yazd, Khorasan, Fars, Semnan, Markazi and some other provinces.

Kerman has the dominant share of orchards and production. Improvements in the planting , cultivation and harvesting of pistachio orchards , as well as the increased mechanization of processing plants has insured better yields for producers and higher quality pistachios for customers .

Most pistachio exports are in bulk: raw dried pistachios, roasted pistachios and pistachio kernels .

Pistachios are exported according the buyers’ requirements and standards, provided they meet the minimum Iranian national standards.

Type of Pistachio

Fandoghi Pistachio (Ohadi):

Ohadi pistachio with the brand  a trade name of found pistachio is considered as one of the most famous and wide spread pistachio types, with hazel nut sheep and is pilso, known as hazel pistachio.

 

 

Kaleh Ghoochi type:

Restively high yield, largeness of this type of pistachio is one of the main factors for selecting and expanding this type. Compared with hazel type, this type has stronger and more sensitive to water and food shortage.

 

 

 

Ahmad Aghai type:

this type is expanding with Almond shape fruits, whited bony shells and large fruited. It’s late flowering and late mature. With highest degree of yearly crops.

 

 

 

 

Akbari type:

It’s a commercial type of pistachio and economically has the highest value with large and long almond shape fruits. Among its characteristics high  growing growth with dense veins. Akbari type suffers more loss from heat and its fruits are larger ( about 18-20 ounce).

 

Pistachio goody:

Pistachio goody is mainly made of closed mouth pistachio and used in confectionary, ice-cream, chocolate Green pistachio goody variety (unripe):
